Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been fascinated by images and sounds; wonderful visions for the eye to see and for the mind and body to feel and experience. Those images and sounds filled my daydreams and aroused within me the desire to travel and explore the whole world. Although, until I was 21 years old – five years ago now – I only had little chances to travel and explore, not even talking about buying a camera. But since that age, my passion for music brought me around Europe with the band I play with. It was awesome, but still didn’t have that much time to roam around and to enjoy the places I was at.
I felt a freedom I hardly ever felt before. I could capture moments and memories, I was exploring, living an adventure. My childhood dream was giving me a small poke and saying: ‘about time huh?!’ Since then, photography has taken the dreams I was chasing to a higher level. It showed me I wasn’t yet paying enough attention to how beautiful it is to experience life and emotions, share them with other people all over the world and establish bonds with each other. I wish I could see the whole world in my life, because I believe every part of this world is a wonder by itself and deserves to be contemplated.
For now, my mission is to create for myself and others, to join the creative community and show in my own way how beautiful our planet is, make friends, explore, preserve the amazing nature we’re still having. While doing so, I will be working hard to turn this passion into a career. It may be tough, it may be a long way and it may require a lot of dedication but I’m down for it! Right now my focus is on learning the language of photography, to be able to express myself the best I can. I set myself a goal: learn something new every day. Other than joining courses, it’s among the best things you can do to pursue constant personal evolution and growth.
When editing a photo I want to achieve flow and balance, focusing on the subject and giving it context. I also like to play with colors, because a color has the ability to stir up emotions and feelings within us. By changing a color, I can partly decide what I want people to feel when looking at a photo. I’d say that my goal with my photography is to awake emotions within people, to feel the photo and to be inspired, to be blown away. I would like to transmit the ‘wow’ feeling I have myself when I am experiencing the moment, or when I look at a photograph of another photographer. This ‘wow’ feeling is like a moment that sparks a little fire within, that makes me feel like making things happen, living my life.
I think most of the people have the desire to travel, or to achieve any kind of goal, but I really want to make it happen. I don’t want to regret later on that I never acted upon the desires I had. So I will travel and photograph around the globe, experience the Earth and meet people, exchange bits of our culture and personal experiences, and store everlasting memories.
