It was a conjunction of different circumstances, coincidences, and incidents that brought me here. Today I am proud and happy that I can share my passion with all the people from around the world.
My passion is not necessarily photography, but what this tool enables me to do – which is to show so many people the beauty, uniqueness, and versatility of our nature. For me there are two things that are very exciting; the first is that I take the observer of my artwork with me on my own journey through the landscapes around the world.
I hope I achieved those goals with the winning photo too, which was taken while we visited the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. On a cold early morning, with the fatigue felt in our bodies and shown in our facial expressions, we left the warm camper and walked through the still dark landscape covered in fog. Once we arrived at the destination, nature began to wake up. The first rays of sunlight found their way through the thick fog. Then suddenly, a light wind arose and slowly drove the fog away, creating space for the sunlight to brighten the landscapes. We enjoyed this moment, as it was unfortunately short-lived. It was during these few minutes that this picture was taken.
Each image of mine gets individual attention in the post-processing part, meaning that I edit each image individually without presets. To me, this attention to the image and the landscape is important because in this way I can appreciate the details, give time to the consideration of environmental impact and awareness, and as a result, I can convey this through my photograph and the edit to others. Since this is part of my passion – raising awareness and evoking respect – I happily dedicate time to my images to make sure they transmit what I aim to.
In recent years and especially in the current situation in which we find ourselves, I realize even more intensively how important and significant our landscapes, nature, and earth are. Humankind is only a guest and should protect it. For this great task alone, there is no room for war, violence, or comparable bad situations in this world. Therefore, let us tackle the task together and finally start to protect our home.
