Two of my greatest passions are skiing and motorbiking; both driven by my love for the mountains. I was born and raised in the Dolomites and I am still living here, so a deep appreciation for mountains is ingrained within me. You can often find me somewhere around; in summer on my motorbike discovering roads and lakes while touring around, and in winter on my skis, going down the wonderful white slopes. I used to watch videos and photos on the Gopro page; I found it amazing to see the adventures of others recorded in the first person, as if you were living it yourself.
That was about four to five years ago, and started creating content with my new Gopro instantly. After a while I got featured on the Gopro page in 2017, which was just an amazing achievement keeping in mind that I got inspired by videos on that page in the first place. As I was enjoying creating visual content that much, I simultaneously started to take photos with my dad’s camera, a Canon eos 1000d. We had given him this camera as a present to take photos of our family activities, but I ended up using it the most until buying my own Canon eos m50. Unfortunately it got stolen during my holiday in Corfù…
I’m not a professional photographer, but I put all my effort to make good content. When I am capturing photos, I really like to focus on the moment, relax, breath and enjoy the views. I am not the type of person that goes to the mountains to take some specific photos. Rather, I enjoy being present, feeling that I am really there at that moment. Only then I can document what I have experienced. Being conscious allows me to edit the photographs later on with accuracy, incorporating somehow the emotions I felt while always keeping it realistic.
That’s the great effect of being present in the moment of shooting; you are able to really recall the emotions you had. I am a nostalgic person and I believe this is reflected in my images. I like to put time into them, approach every photo in a unique way because each moment has its own unique feeling and interpretation. I am that kind of person who loves to look back at old photos to remember some wonderful days and moments, it makes me feel happy and grateful.
Of course I don’t want to keep these memories for myself, I love to share my photos on social media, interact with other content creators and learn that way. I had many chances to meet people with the same passion and share adventures on the mountains in between shots and nice chats. When using social media in the correct way there are lots of opportunities. For example, I got featured on the Gopro page as said before, and I also became an ambassador of some brands. Last September I was invited by one of them to an event here in the Dolomites.
I think my love for adventure and mountains will never disappear, I am addicted to these feelings that these adventures out in nature provoke. I remember when I was younger, that we would go for a hike with the family somewhere in the mountains almost every Sunday. I felt awesome every time when I reached the summit, spending some time up there to rest and contemplate. It is a really special feeling when you are surrounded by nature, an emotion very hard to explain. Maybe it’s like cheerful, peaceful, and carefree. It’s not easy to explain…
