“In July 2020, I camped at Trillium lake and wandered around the lake for sunrise. This morning was perfect as there was a low fog constantly moving. The fisherman also drifted in and out of view in front of the trees. Seeing this scene in person was just incredible, and looking back at the photos later, I was just over the moon.”

Choosing where to go, getting to a place, looking for the right light, making mistakes or getting it right, and usually being alone in the process. “What was special about this photo was that there was fresh snowfall the night before. I have never experienced snow clashing with fall colors in Crested Butte. There was perfect cloud cover letting the sun peak through slowly. The peaks were covered in a thin layer of snow, while the lower valleys were covered in golden aspens. It was just one of those mornings when everything was perfect.”
