Landscape photographer based in Germany

I started photographing when my first child was born, which was seven years ago. I bought a Nikon D5300 to take pictures of my daughter and I realized that I really enjoyed it; not just because it was my daughter I was taking pictures of, but also because I was curious about all the settings on the camera and trying out different things. So, from one thing came another and both my wife and I got passionate about photography. We first shared a camera; she took portraits during the day, and I went out during the evenings to shoot mountainous landscapes and stars.

"Nowadays, after 6 years, my wife works full time as a wedding and portrait photographer and I can travel the world!"

Although for me it is not a full time job yet, photography is a significant part of my life. We decide the places we go to for our family holidays based on the amazing photography spots available in the area and I often join my wife to shoot at weddings. Also, as soon as I come home from my current job, I start working on the pictures from my last trip.

"Before I started with photography, I had been in only three countries. That has changed drastically as only in this year, I have been in 12 countries."

Something very notable that I discovered is that I actually love to be in cold countries rather than the ones with a warm climate where I used to go to for holidays. I have seen the most beautiful landscapes in cold countries so far, and that is one of the reasons I am heading to the Lofoten in November.

Through photography I have learned that every place in the world is accessible and you can achieve all you can imagine if you have enough curiosity and passion… Getting up early even though you are a late riser (like me), planning how to really get to the places dream about, the physical challenge to reach the top of the mountain.. You are able to do it and with my pictures I want to show that it is definitely worth the effort. When I reach my destination in the middle of the night after a difficult ascent and stand with my camera on a summit at sunrise, I feel more free than ever.

"I want my audience to feel like they were there, to feel the freedom and to feel encouraged to live it themselves."

Also, I want to show people that there is more than our comfortable home country. When I went to Iceland, I was so surprised by the sceneries. Once you’ve landed on this great island you feel like you’re on another planet. There are hardly any trees and that can be so weird if you have never seen such place before. I hope to travel to much more countries to keep discovering and photographing the surprising beauty of our planet.

"The idea is to stop my current job when possible and to make a living out of my passion in order to take care of my other passion...My family."
