Landscape photographer based in Switzerland

I live in Switzerland, a country with breathtaking nature. Even since I remember, my parents took me with them when they went hiking or exploring. My friends were also addicted to mountains and adventures; everything we do, we prefer to do in nature. When I grew older, my dad had a van with which we explored the balkan peninsula. This is how my passion for traveling developed. As soon as I finished my apprenticeship I knew I had to take the chance and explore more of our beautiful nature. I decided to buy my own van and go traveling with a friend of mine. We went from Switzerland to Bordeaux to the Atlantic Ocean. From there we drove along the coast further down south during three months and learnt surfing.

"My friend decided to buy a camera before leaving, to capture all the good moments and memories, and this is how I began with photography."
"The journey through Portugal and Spain had a great impact on me. I was 19 years old and I realized that life is much more than I thought it was."

We were living in a van for several months and everyday we did what made us happy and feel alive. Surfing, cooking, reading, photographing, exploring… I learnt to be myself and to do what keeps me growing day by day. A community called LBRTY was enforcing this process. The spirit of our community is the belief that we can achieve anything we want to. All members help each other to grow and go further, go beyond imaginary limitations or obstacles. We all have some goals in life and we know that if you give, you will get back. I also learnt that everything that happens in life has a reason and makes me who I am. Every relationship, every decision, every encounter and every event.

"After this trip I decided to buy a camera myself and the journey began. Nowadays I take my camera with me everywhere I go."

I also took up filming in order to record my skating and other sports; I used the videos to analyze my movements and to improve my skills. For now photography is a hobby but it means much more to me than just taking photos. When I shoot in the nature I feel right, complete and aligned with myself. While I capture some moments I always take some deep breaths to become truly conscious of the moment and be thankful for what a beautiful world we live in. It has been one year now and when I look back at the photographs from my very early stages in photography I can see my progress. I can see how much I developed through photographing and because of that I know I’m able to learn much more about photography and myself in my future. I think that the challenges in photography as well as in life is to learn new things and to get better in what you practice.

"One of my friends is as passionate about photography as I am and he also inspired me to do what I’m doing now."

In the beginning he taught me a lot and I think we’re now at the same level. We go on adventures together and push each other. The best thing is that we have the same camera so we can share our lenses, which allowed me to reach a next level in photography. I try to find my own style in photographing and editing and I’m pretty happy with the result so far. One of my goals is to get better in grading and cutting videos and for that I want to buy myself a new camera with which I can film in high quality.

"One of my future plans is to live in a van and shoot as much as I can."

Every adventure gives me valuable lessons, but the one I will never forget was this trip to Spain and Portugal. This was the trigger to all of this. I learnt that I don’t need much to be happy and fulfilled. We just had our van and 6m2 for two persons. Despite, I felt like I had everything I wanted and needed. I never had the same feeling, nothing is comparable with that feeling I had when road tripping with a van.

"My first step is to be financially independent and also free in terms of time and schedule. I want to decide if I go surfing, skating, photographing or working."

My biggest vision is to live life in abundance. For me abundance means to feel the nature, feel my body, and this day by day. Being aware of my personal growth and keeping learning new things. Photography helps me to create abundance, because being in nature and with friends fulfills me. My friends inspire me and are part of almost each new adventure. And with every following adventure, I feel that my newest shots are the best I’ve ever made. My favorites are photos taken on a trip where I also spent the night at the spot itself. It means so much for me to go on new adventures especially with friends, that simply makes every adventure unforgettable.

"I’m always so thankful for moments and opportunities like this."
