Not that long ago I was studying a bachelor degree in immunology. Yet, I realized that I didn’t want to wake up everyday doing something I don’t love. I knew there was something out there that I truly enjoyed, I just had to find it!
As I explored Vancouver, I realized how fulfilling nature can be. I’m especially mesmerized by fog and I still can’t forget my first encounter with this majestic natural occurrence at Buntzen Lake.
So nature got me into photography and eventually I discovered Photoshop. Ever since I have been driven to create imaginary worlds through my photography. So, I figured out my passion: I love to create!
As such, photography has been a huge part of my life for the last years and I am constantly learning, always trying to become a better artist.
Over time I think that I have been able to come up with my own editing style – Max Rive’s work was a huge inspiration for me. I like dark tones because they allow the light to stand out. I also like to use contrasts so I can direct the viewer’s eyes in my photos, while the colder and bluish tones complement the dark colors of my photography.
Yet, traveling represents my biggest source of inspiration! In addition, I really value the opportunities that it brings, such as having new experiences or getting to know new cultures. Discovering new and exciting sceneries is for sure part of the fun!
Along my travels I have learned three important lessons:
(1) Always do your research before hand. It is preferable to arrive early to contemplate the sunset. That way you will not miss it!
(2) Be friendly, some of the most memorable bonds I have made were from my travels.
(3) If there is space in your memory card the day is not over. I rather have too many photos than not enough photos.
