I discovered my passion for landscape photography a few years ago when I visited Shanghai. I was doing my exchange program there and although all I had was a small camera, the workflow captivated me pretty quickly. I found myself randomly shooting and editing photographs and although my main goal was to have fun, a part of me wanted to capture better images. Ever since I have been focusing on my style which I have managed to develop over my trips to Sri Lanka and California.
What is driving me nowadays as a landscape photographer is actually the full experience behind it. There are so many different steps. On one hand, firstly you need to make sure that you are using the right gear, so you need to know what is in the market. It is also important to plan and organize the trips, that way you can be more efficient and enjoy with some peace of mind the journey.
On the other hand, you need to challenge yourself! Waking up super early for sunrise or going back to bed super late after shooting the sunset and eventually the stars is also part of this. And of course, post-processing is key so I can share my experiences with the audience.
Even though there is a lot of hard work and dedication behind each photograph, I will keep doing it as long as I keep enjoying the process. As I said, for the moment, I love all the different steps behind this passion.
I believe that being surrounded by nature plays a key role in this regard. When I am in the wild I can truly feel free and take my time to think about things that normally I would not consider in my daily life. So, it is a good way to gain some perspective.
