My name is Nick Heinimann and I am a dedicated filmmaker and photographer. I have always loved traveling and experiencing new places, new cultures and meeting people from different walks of life. I would not exactly say I have a passion for traveling – it is more like a constant need and desire to explore places and experience new things. I love not having a plan and just going where the day takes me and going off that paved road or the unknown path.
As a child I have always been interested and intrigued with cameras and would take photos on family trips. Since then photography has pretty much just become an addiction. Everywhere I go I feel the need to take photos to document all the sites I have visited so that when I am old and grumpy I can look back at them and reminisce on the memories.
So, I love capturing content and for me creating photographs, is a way of showing other people the beauty of this world. Not everyone is fortunate to travel so through my photos I want them to feel like they are there and that they have seen this place so I try to convey a story and feeling of togetherness.
I believe that the most important thing when it comes to visual story telling is conveying emotion, being able to convey and make the person looking at your photo feel like he/she is actually there or make them feel some form of emotion.
I am so grateful and fortunate to be able to travel around the world and photograph the worlds most beautiful places as a means of work. So the need and desire to keep exploring and keep shooting will always be there!
There are so many incredible places still to explore and so many bucket shot photos that I want and need to capture so I guess as long as the desire and hunger is alive I will continue to keep shooting and exploring!
