My name is Marten Kählert and I am a photographer and filmmaker from Greifswald, Germany, near the Baltic coast. I always loved the beauty of nature and felt addicted to travel since childhood. Exploring new places always excited me. In 2017 I bought my first camera, which is when my interest in the art and craft of photography grew. I was no longer interested in taking random snaps with my phone.
I am excited for my next adventures and blending travel and photography is perfect for me. I am continuously trying to improve my photography skills by trying new things as often as I can. Daily I see so many inspirational shots from my favorite travel and landscape photographers that I am now more excited to travel to new locations than ever before.
As I share new work, I aim to evoke the same emotions that I had myself when I visited the location; most of the time that means telling a story behind the shot to engage my audience in the scenery. Sharing my work on social media is not a requirement to reaching my goals. It helps being consistent on this platform and sharing my best content that I can offer the audience.
If I had a chance to go back in time, I would return to the first time I visited the Alps. I lost most of my work from my early 20s from a data crash and because I can’t remember all of these places, I would be more than happy to revisit these sites again. Or a foggy morning in Thailand. One of these mornings I will never forget.
