My name is Marc Heptig and I am based near Heidelberg, Germany. When I was 9 years old I grabbed a camera for the first time. My mom’s camera was analogous, it had huge limitations and to develop the photos was an expensive process. Do you remember those cameras?
As I visited important cities around Europe such as Rome or Barcelona, I had the opportunity to practice with my first compact camera. Getting to know my camera and learning how to use the manual settings was fascinating to me. As I progressed and gained control over my camera, I decided to go one step further and invest in a DSLR camera.
Ever since I have been driven by travel and photography, especially since I created my Instagram account in 2017. As a result I visited the Swiss Alps the same year. This trip fulfilled my deepest desires as a landscape photographer.
Well, for me it is important to have fun in life – I really enjoy exploring new places and capturing their beauty for eternity – this just seems magical to me! Furthermore, photography can be very challenging sometimes, which is the reason why it never gets boring!
Searching for new spots, perspectives, and edits is so exciting. I’m always on the search to create that one composition, and this journey will never end. To witness these unique moments, such as standing in front of Germany’s highest mountain with the beautiful Eibsee in the foreground at sunrise, makes you feel so alive!
Overall, I want to create and post the best content possible and inspire other people to go out and enjoy the world’s endless beauty. Of course, I hope my audience enjoy the photos and I can entertain them. The major emotion, which I want to convey, is happiness. The happiness I feel when I am at a beautiful location, enjoying the first sun rays and inhaling the fresh air.
If I have to choose my favorite trip so far, I maybe would go for the sunset at the top of Haleakalā. When you stand at nearly 10,000 ft above sea level, everything turns fascinating! The world is your oyster! I would wish to feel this again!
