We are Quentin and Jeremy, first unknown classmates for each other, and now creative travel partners. We met at the age of 18 and 20, after having already spent two years in the same class at school. We had never spoken before; Quentin was more on his own before, and Jeremy was relatively immature. It was when the topic ‘travel’ casually came up that we realized we had a passion in common: travel and adventure. From one thing came the other and we went on some small trips together. We both did studies in Graphics, so we both already loved creating and innovating. We filmed these trips with a GoPro and we started mounting in GoPro Studio together.

"Nothing concrete, but the desire to transcribe our vision through visual content was born."

After our studies, not really feeling much for entering the ‘real working life’ and not knowing exactly what we wanted to do, we decided to just go for the project Quentin had in mind for several years already. Having the need to go far away, to meet new people and discover other cultures, we left France to drive around Australia with a van. After buying a camera (Yashica T3) and a new GoPro, we explored the Australian routes, the Indonesian forests and Hawaiian beaches in one year, with the objective of photographing and documenting all these breathtaking places on our own style. We have lived our worst and best moments of our lives in these countries, which opened our spirit, helped us to understand things in life and made us questioning…

"What in life makes you really thrill? What you really love doing, even if it may seem utopian?"

It was amazing, filming and photographing different corners of the world, exploring and discovering them, transcribing them on our own style.  That is the objective we want to achieve today. Photography and videography makes us go off the beaten path, and even though we are tourists at the end, we try to avoid the touristic zones and we look for the wilde places full of folklore and rich in flora and fauna. We have a bucket list with all the places we would love to go, but in the end that list consists of more than 90 countries. Our thirst for travel and discovery is unlimited. Combined with travel, photo and videography made us discover who we really are, helped us to find the joy of waking up in the morning, happy and with life goals.

"It’s necessary to take risks for the things you think are important."
"After our first trip, we worked for two years in order to pay for the material we have now."

Meanwhile, we tried to understand and analyze each botton, tested it by filming and taking photos, editing them afterwards and critically looking at the results. Then, starting the whole process again, improving and starting again. We are never satisfied with the result, even if it’s about a little detail, and this stimulates us to get better every day.  We still have a lot to learn, we are just at the beginning and we finetune our style little by little. We are inspired by many talented artists and we believe that it’s necessary to look for different sources of inspiration to be able to innovate our own photography.

We think that once you start with photography, you will never look at the world in the same way. You will pay attention to every detail that nature offers us; when the sky clears up, when nature comes alive… And it’s always an honor to witness all these natural events and we hope we can keep doing that every day. We hope to make people who don’t photograph, aware of these details through our work. Although we really enjoy photography, we focus on video as that is the way we can best express our emotions.

"We started freelancing officially about six months ago."

We worked with different start-ups, companies and brands with the aim to ameliorate and to create a network. But what both of us really makes us thrive are our personal projects and the outdoors, and we would love to work with tourism agencies and outdoors brands, and making travel vlogs in the meantime. While waiting to be totally financially independent, we try to travel as much as possible to create qualitative content and to practice outdoors with sometimes difficult conditions. These projects and trips usually come up spontaneously and last minute. We live day by day.

"It’s because of this that we decided to take the risk and leave for a long travel last Summer, creating visual content for our different media."

We always say “destination isn’t a question of luck, but a choice”. We went to South America for five weeks, starting in Chile, then going to Bolivia and finishing in Peru, all by bus and with a backpack. Our goal was to live like a vagabond, not booking anything and letting life guide us through the trip with having just some specific points we absolutely wanted to visit. We would see where it would take us, free to decide ourselves and ready to overcome our psychological blockings. During this trip, we have seen totally diverse landscapes: the desert, the jungle, mountains, volcanoes, hotsprings.. and all of it in just a short time. Like everyone knows, it’s a relatively poor continent, but the people are so welcoming, helpful, smiling and we haven’t felt insecure at all.

"We wanted to avoid the touristic activities as much as possible, and do most of the activities on our own."

Of course it is not always possible to do everything on your own, but if you are motivated to run that extra mile and put in that extra effort, you can do most of it. We found ourselves often alone in nature, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by animals and filled with an incredible feeling of freedom. And that’s where we hope to find ourselves much more often in the future. We will see where we can get with Lpapillus, but we are sure that we both will always continue to create, to explore and to document.
