Landscape photographer based in Austria

My name is Guillermo Neugebauer and I am a 29 years old hobby photographer based in “Neusiedl am See”, on the Eastern side of Austria.

When I was 20 I started my first software company. Right from the beginning it was important to succeed and generate income, so some weeks I worked more than 70 hours. Last year everything came to an end when my body almost collapsed from all the stress.

Many things have happened in these last 9 years and although I have learned a lot about entrepreneurship, I realized that I needed a change in my life. In 2018 I reduced my list of clients by 80% in order to focus more on myself and my happiness. Would I spend my entire life working trying to be successful as an entrepreneur? I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life.

After all, we only live once!

So, I got new gear for my camera and decided to enjoy life doing what I love the most. After 9 years of hard work, to travel the world seemed like a dream to me! I began to explore my home country in the first place. This was such a nice experience because for the first time I wasn’t busy trying to solve problems and move forward with my business. I was simply enjoying the little things in life. And as a traveler, you can find many of those moments worth celebrating!

My trip to the Faroe Islands influenced me greatly. I traveled alone and met 4 strangers and other people I have met previously on Instagram. I ended up spending 7 days with them in a completely unknown country. This was the best trip of my life! We hiked, camped and had so much fun.

"I guess that the places we visit are important in the overall travel experience, of course. However, the people we meet along the journey is what creates this amazing feeling of happiness!"

Nowadays I consider myself a nature lover and I try to go outdoors almost every week. Overall, I am grateful because I finally know what I want to do with my life. I want to see the world and capture the unique moments I encounter throughout the journey. Although photography is for me just a hobby, I know that this passion gives me a lot of positive things, as well as chills. Photography makes me feel complete as a person. Why would I invest thousands of euros in equipment if I didn’t really enjoy it?

I would like to conclude my story with the following thought: I believe it is important that you permanently work on yourself and try to think out of the box. Work on being in love with the person in the mirror.

"You have been through so much but there you are, standing with a happy smile."
