My name is Eden Robby and I am a landscape photographer based in Orange County, California. I’ve been obsessed with exploring the world since I was young. I always admired guys like Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmerman, watching and wishing I could experience the beauty, culture, and diversity around the world. Naturally I wanted a camera to capture these experiences. Why?
Well, to me photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting at an ordinary place. Photography has little to do with the things we see, it is more about the way we see them.
Along the last years I have been lucky enough to travel the world and learn in each and every trip. There are definitely some techniques I know now, that I could have used then. Yet, my goal with photography remains pretty much the same: I want to inspire people! We live in an incredible, yet chaotic, time. I’d love to know my work inspires my following to take a step away from technology and the pressure of the world today and reevaluate what’s important in life. Traveling, I believe, can help a lot in this regard.
Leaving all the incredible experiences aside, traveling has humbled me and made me appreciate what’s truly important to me. It’s something I hope I can share with people close to me forever, because I really believe the experience is invaluable.
If I could experience anything again, it would be the Northern Lights. It’s such an unreal experience walking out to the northern lights ripping across the sky! I even had to pull off the road a few times before getting to Kirkjufell!
Another of my favorite destinations is the Faroe Islands. This place has so much potential and still so much to be discovered. Driving through this island and its buttercup routes leave you in awe at every turn.
