Travel photographer exploring the world

Overcoming the fear of solo adventures marked a turning point for Daniele. Traveling taught him the value of freedom and embracing the unknown. Notably, Patagonia held unforgettable moments beneath starry skies. The essence of conveying emotions through photography became a focus, and in the future, Daniele aspires to inspire others to explore, grow, and live life to the fullest.

It all started about ten years ago, as a game, buying my first action cam during my first overseas trip. I didn’t know where to start. I had no idea how and what to capture. I simply pressed the record button and then tried to extract some frames from the video.

That trip, I think, was day zero, where it all began. I still didn’t know it, but it ignited the flame that would later become my biggest passion.

A lot of time has passed since then! That game turned into curiosity, and curiosity ignited a great desire inside me to travel and discover every corner of this planet, trying to perceive every shade of it. My way of taking photographs has evolved, which I believe is natural.

Tipping point

The decisive step for my growth was to face the fear of departing alone. A few years ago, it was not considered as good as it is now, and I was scared by the idea of being seen by my friends and acquaintances in a different way from the “normal”. Stepping out of your comfort zone always scares the hell out of you, but as a lover of challenges, I decided to face it, booking my first solo trip on the other side of the world. The best choice I could ever make in my whole life!

Traveling, I chose to fall in love with the world! I cried under millions of stars and felt completely helpless against the force of an erupting volcano. I walked around the most untouched woods in the world waiting for the first light of the day, and wherever I am, seeing the sun going down always gives me goosebumps!

Exploring Patagonia

The most incredible moment of my life was in Patagonia. At the Mirador Base De Los Tres, one of the most beautiful trails I’ve ever made! But to reach the top at dawn, I had to face numerous challenges and split the climb into two days due to a weather alert that even forced me to sign a disclaimer on behalf of the park. It was night. Exhausted, I went straight into the tent. I laid out my stuff trying to spread out the clothes soaked by the heavy storm I encountered to reach the camp. I was halfway, but I was very demoralized. After all, I would have to wake up a few hours later, to arrive at my destination at sunrise and the weather showed no signs of improvement.

Almost out of spite, I decided not to set the alarm. My hopes were hanging together with the wet clothes! Falling asleep with the noise of the rain hitting hard on the tent, I woke up like a Swiss clock just before the time I should have set the alarm.

I was surprised by the silence of the night. I immediately stuck my head out of the tent and I was completely incredulous at seeing so many stars in the sky. Full of euphoria, I took the dry clothes I had in my backpack, and like a child, I jumped out in a flash setting off on the trail!

It was cold that night, but the joy of the moment warmed me with every gust of wind, and after a couple of hours, I arrived at this crazy place! That night was a succession of emotions, from sleeping in a tent with the sound of the rain to a clear starry sky the next day, treating me with this spectacle of nature, alone and at the first light of day!

The secret to taking a beautiful photo is to convey emotions:

1) Passion and vision

Behind a simple photo, there is much more than a camera: there is passion, study, dedication, and vision!

2) Value the little things

As you grow up, you learn to value the little things, using the camera as a means to a more intimate end because every picture tells something about you.

3) Keep it
original

In every picture, I try to convey those shivers I feel living that moment, and then in post-production, I try to enhance the colors yet remain faithful to the original image.

The following are my favorite pictures, each of these brings back enormous memories and emotions to me!

If I had to choose one, I would pick the sunrise at the Mirador base de los tres in Patagonia. It’s my absolute favorite, to the point that I have a fine art print of it in my bedroom!

Looking at it every morning as soon as I wake up, I think back to all the difficulties that I had to face alone and overcome. This motivates me a lot and moves me!

Future projects and ambitions

In 10 years, I’d love to be the one who inspires the new generations to step out of their comfort zone, to tickle that curiosity that fuels dreams, to discover new cultures and different habits, but above all, to live every emotion to the full!
