Landscape photographer and adventure enthusiast based in Italy

The first time I held a camera in my hands, I was 8 years old. I remember when my mom gave me one of the first disposable Kodaks for the school trip. Of course, I could not even take a photograph of the castle that we visited that day… I finished the whole film roll on the bus, and the photographs resulted to be all completely out of focus or burned. From that age on, I also started to take part in the adventures of my parents in the mountains. I remember that my father gave me a camera that was also a video camera; I enjoyed filming and telling about all the excursions in every little detail. At the age of 11, I received my own first camera, a Fujifilm digital camera that I used during my mountain adventures with my parents. Later, I got my my first DSLR camera, a Nikon D800E, with 70-200 and 24-70 Nikon lenses.

"My passion for photography grew over the years and I have been working in the photographic world since 2012 for a company in Bergamo."

I work as a content creator and it often happens that I travel for it. The best business trip I took was in 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. I went there for a convention on the world of drones, “Interdrone 2018”. After the hours of the convention I visited the city and I remember perfectly the moment when I climbed the Stratosphere, a hotel about 350m high. On the panoramic terrace I saw the whole city at sunset and the pristine desert far beyond. At that precise moment I realized that I have the best job in the world. That moment also raised the desire within me to travel more, to reach the desert I saw from the panoramic terrace of the Stratosphere.

"I think that's why I decided to dedicate myself to outdoor photography, because I want to see and photograph something that not everyone can reach, so that they too can live it through my photographs."

So it was only recently that I got passionate about landscape photography and nowadays I try to go outdoors as much as possible. I go hiking and climbing in via Ferrata in the mountains every time I can and I bring all the equipment with me: my camera, tripod and drone. I practice whenever an occasion arises and I’m inspired by many Instagram profiles of outdoor photographers. One of them is Tobias Hägg; I’m a big fan of him! Besides, I follow some fantastic lessons on Skillshare. I will always pursue photography, because there are always next shots I want to take and always things I want to improve.

"I believe that this is an inexhaustible source of motivation to do always better."

Photography is something that frees my mind and allows me to focus fully on my goal, to take home shots that convey my passion. I feel like I’m creating something new, it’s hard to describe the feeling you get during a shot. With every shot, I already try to imagine the editing and the final result. I try to convey everything I felt at the time of shooting, and let other try to feel it in turn by watching it. Each photograph tells something different, at different times in my life.

"Photography is an opportunity to leave a mark, a trace of my experience in the current world."
"Beyond that, photography is an adventure, and I believe that outdoor photography is a perfect way of learning and growing."

Learning about the world we live in and its magnificent nature, but also about yourself and others. Before devoting myself to outdoor photography, I was afraid of heights, I suffered from vertigo and I never expected to face a via ferrata. The love for photography has allowed me to face these fears and overcome them. The adventure is a way to get to know the sides of one’s personality that in everyday life would not be possible to understand. My last adventure was to leave with my father in the middle of the night for the Dolomites, after 400 km we reached the Tre Cime di Lavaredo to enjoy the sunrise. An incredible emotion. This trip together reinforced the indestructible bond we already had.

"For once, I was able to teach my father something and it is a great satisfaction because he always taught me everything."
"In my opinion, adventure is the answer to the question: "Are we living life or is the life that lives us?" Every time I have to plan the next excursion, the next trip, I am overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and this makes me feel alive. I have no idea what the future will bring... I only know that I want to improve every day and live a life that is worth living."
