We are Agnieszka and Marcin, a Polish couple of creatives behind @zavadventures on Instagram. We love exploring and documenting beautiful nature, with a dream of traveling the world as digital nomads and living as sustainably as possible!

My creativity showed up at a very young age: I was drawing, painting, and later started designing and taking photos. I also loved spending time outdoors, traveling and experiencing new places. During my studies, I visited Japan and South Korea, where I went to volunteer at an art center. These trips took all the money I earned at my part time jobs (and with Polish currency we are really poor everywhere in the world), but they made me more confident that fulfilling your dreams is possible.

"I tried my best to develop all of my passions, but they did not really merge together until I met Marcin."

My creativity showed up a little later than Agnieszka’s and the first sign of it was playing every guitar I could lay my hands on.

After primary school I began to take classical guitar lessons then went through a jazz course, but eventually ended up playing and recording metal music with my band Sawblade (up and running even today – check Spotify!).

I wasn’t really into drawing or other art but I grew up with a camera around because of multiple photoshoots of my band. I was standing on the other side of a camera back then.

When I met Agnieszka our art worlds collided and merged into uncountable collaborative projects. On a side of all of my art I grew up traveling with a tent for all the vacations: music festivals, mountains and climbing, bike riding in forests. Nature is engraved in me (literally – I have it tattooed. 😉 ) From when I can remember and as I grew up, I love it even more.

"When I met with Agnieszka our passion for outdoors and traveling amplified and lately we focus on our biggest collaboration project - photography."

@zavadventures

Together, we went backpacking in French Riviera, drove 5000km for a trekking trip to Norway, got engaged on Madeira, hiked the mountains of Slovenia, got married at a beautiful outdoor ceremony, went to Iceland for a two-week honeymoon and returned to Madeira again this year for our one-year anniversary. In the meantime, we travel around Poland during weekends whenever possible.

The feeling of spending a whole day outside, breathing in fresh air and being surrounded by beautiful views is amazing.

"Focusing less on everyday life struggles and all other worries, you take in everything that is around you, slowly, with all of your senses and you can truly experience the power and beauty of nature."

A moment like this happened to us on Madeira, when we went to see the sunrise on Pico do Arieiro, hiked to the tallest peak Pico Ruivo, and came back and experienced the sunset. We were not in a hurry. We took our time to take photos. We enjoyed the crazy landscape around us and even connected with other like-minded people. And we know that we need more moments like this in our lives.

When it comes to our photography at first, we were only taking pictures randomly while trekking. The difference between our photos now and then is huge! We have the need to be better and explore as much as we possibly can. We are encouraging each other and using the combination of our skills to create our own art.

"This is why we believe that finding someone you can work, travel and live your best life with, helps overcoming any obstacles that are thrown in your way."

Today we love to share our experiences and photos with others to inspire them to travel, hike, and create more. The world today gives many possibilities for all of that to happen.

We hope our photography may also connect people with nature more. It is really important now, when we are facing the climate crisis. We try to incorporate this important message in our art. People seem to be so detached from the natural world that they live in, not seeing how much it gives us…And we really hope that all these beautiful places will remain like this for us and for future generations to discover!
