My name is Lisa Sihlberg and my work, passion and life goal is to make people aware of our amazing planet and that we need to take care of it.
A couple of years back I was stuck in the “ hamster wheel”, working at a job that didn’t spark creativity, forcing me to stay in one place and held back my passion for nature. Since I already knew life is short, I made a choice to risk my “imaginary” safety and economic stability and went against the “normal” stream. I quit my job, left for travelling despite my fears of failing earning money with my photography. That was six years ago. Now I am working with my passion for nature and expressing it through photography and storytelling.
We are constantly surrounded by magic, but sometimes we are too distracted to realize that all we need to be happy and live a fulfilled life is a healthy nature. I am happy to be able to work with my passion, raising awareness and exploring the world at the same time. I believe that life is too short to waste it on working with something you don’t feel passionate about, just to earn money, that you will then spend on things you don’t really need.
I believe that through experiencing other cultures around the world we get a better understanding of what’s happening around us, and we can feel more respect and love for each other: it helps us grow as persons. I realized that, except from my camera gear, I can live from what I have in my backpack. I rather see the world and grow as a person, than being stuck both mentally and physically in one place.
I fell in love with nature early in my childhood and with my photography, videography and storytelling skills I now have the ability to give my love back to nature. With my pictures and movies I can create the reality I feel within my heart, I can express how I feel about nature and I can affect others to feel the same. As a photographer you have the amazing power to influence and inspire others to act for a good cause. I found my call, my passion, my life purpose, and that is to spread awareness that we all have the responsibility but also the ability to take care of our planet.

“I started going to photography meet ups in the city, taking photos again, and then I started going on trips with those photo friends. Finding that community was so huge for me. It all sort of snowballed into more trips, longer trips, trying harder at photography, and it just took off from there.”
