My passion for travel started from an impulsive decision to quit my job, buy a jeep, and drive down to Los Angeles from Canada for a month when I was 18. I fell in love with the idea of being free to explore without timeline. After I finished my degree in Psychology, I felt like I needed another impulsive trip. I missed that feeling of being free. I traveled around Europe for 2.5 months and started photographing landscapes with only a GoPro. It became more and more addictive to travel and capture these amazing moments in my life. I upgraded to Sony Alpha and left on another six-month trip around the world. Now I travel on and off multiples times throughout the year. I am currently at 56 countries and counting. My goal is to hit 100.
Over the last couples years photography has been a huge part of my life, as well as my identity. A passion has turned into a job, however that job doesn’t feel like work. Each day I’m editing something new whether its a landscape photo, wedding video, portraits, or animals. I use photography to express myself. With every photo I edit I always strive to be as creative and unique as possible; I always want people to feel that “wow” feeling when they see my photos.
For me, photography and travel became one. I had a desire to travel because I had a desire to photograph the world. While traveling the world I experienced different cultures, gained knowledge, and changed my way of thinking. It made me discover myself and what I truly love doing. It has led me to doors which I don’t think I would have opened without the influence of photography.
