I’m Giuliano Scarparo, an industrial designer. Even though I am not a full time photographer, I have always been passionate about photography and enjoyed taking pictures from a very young age, starting with my first Canon reflex donated by my parents. Traveling and discovering places is something I have always loved doing, trying to live and observe nature in all its splendor. My passion for photography has expanded after starting to dive; taking pictures underwater of the marine environment, packed with diving equipment, is just marvellous.

Photography has made me discover that no matter where you are or what you are photographing, every time you go on an adventure or a trip, every shot will be a shot made by yourself, beautiful or ugly, right or wrong, but always done with your own hands.

"Every shot will give you the opportunity to relive even for a second that moment that may mean a lot to you."

For example, when I look at my pictures from Kenya, I travel back in my memories and live the picture again. I would love to really go back there and photograph many more spots and animals. At that time, my photographic equipment was very poor and if I could go back, I could capture that splendid place in a completely different way.

I’ve always photographed for myself, every shot I take and each edit is based on my personal preferences and I don’t want to convince anyone with my style. Once the edited photo is exported, I just want to enjoy it on the TV screen, my computer or on my phone. I can change style every day, because every day I’ll be happy to watch / criticize and improve the photo and the edit, to enjoy every single shot and every edit. I have been a graphic designer for about 10 years now and I absolutely think the two things are connected, because graphics and photography go absolutely parallel, the eye of a graphic designer definitely helps in photography and vice versa.

Even though I photograph for myself, I do enjoy sharing my work online. That way I can learn from comments or observations and it provides me with the opportunity to improve myself every day. Also, by publishing my photographs, I hope to show my audience another perspective of the place or the object I photographed.

"Everyone has their own perspective of the world, and everyone should be able to share theirs and to learn from others."
