Landscape photographer based in Italy

My name is Andreas Koniari and I am living in Italy, working as a sales associate at the North Face. I consider myself an ordinary guy who loves the mountains. I like the mountains because they make me feel small and somehow help me sort out what’s important in life. I particularly like hiking in the Dolomites, Italy.

"I just cannot get enough of this range and its impressive peaks!"

For me life is a continuous journey, so a day spent in the same routine is a day lost. As Wilfrid Noyce once said: “We go out because it is our nature to go out, to climb mountains, and to paddle rivers, to fly to the planets and plunge into the depths of the oceans…When man ceases to do these things, he is no longer man.” For me it is important to bear this in mind.

Along the last years I have been trying to combine my passion for the outdoors with something that I really love as well, creating. Photography allows me create small pieces of art, which are priceless to me since they represent true moments of joy spent in the wild.

"If you think about it, this is a really interesting combination."

Nowadays we have the opportunity to spend time hiking and exploring some of the most picturesque regions in the world – while we can immortalize in quite an impressive manner our favorite moments and share them with the world instantly. Social media is not perfect. But I think that platforms such as Instagram can be a wonderful source of inspiration and a game changer when it comes to fight climate change for instance.

Hopefully, I will continue exploring and doing what I love the most. I hope I can keep sharing my own perspective of the world and that I can also inspire others to pursue their passions and dreams.

"In a world where you can be anyone, be yourself!"
