Once upon a time I was walking with my father on the shore of the beach, I remember it as the day of yesterday. I was 11/12 years old and my father gave me his camera, which he never separated with. He said “I will show you how you can capture this sunset” and demonstrated me how to set the time of exposure and where to press to take the picture. I pressed “click” and took it. I was filled with pride that I took a professional picture, but then, in front of my eyes, he deleted it. I was so angry; “why did you do that?!”

He answered something that I always repeat in my mind now when I stand in front of nothing but beautiful landscapes, moments worth capturing, ready to press the shutter: “Remember that you take pictures with your eyes, not with a camera; remember here (tapping his head). You can delete a photo but memories never.”

"It was the first time I had a professional camera in my hand, not knowing that this would be my life several years later and finally found stability within myself after many difficult years."
"My childhood wasn't easy. My parents divorced when I was one year old and they were only 22 themselves."

We were moving around more than we had ever lived in one house, so I never had the stability of a group of friends, family or a home until my brother was born. My dad wasn’t there most of the time as he participated in the UN and was often abroad. Though when he appeared, he always took me to another corner of the world. Every country, every landscape – I remember it all very clearly.

"At the age of 16 I managed to be in 24 countries and 3 continents."

It was also at that age that we stopped travelling often because my sister was born and my father lived in Switzerland. I was living with my mom and started a period of rebellion and parties while searching for a field of study. I choose something that I didn’t like enough and quitted after the first semester to not waste any time. I started doing different jobs, searching what I was interested in, which seemed untraceable.

"At some point, photography sneaked into my mind."

For me, photography is this memory in Mallorca, at the beach with the sunset, together with my dad. It is a variety of emotions I connect with. It is the way I live. I want to take pictures with my eyes, keep them for myself or share them. I try to capture everything natural; a smile, a movement, stress, love, peace and probably the most important, the beauty of time.

When it concerns capturing with a camera, I had to learn everything from the start. I sometimes go to photography and travel events. Also, I enrolled myself in a photography course, but it is not enough. All the time I search for perfection, observing my idols from different parts of the world, the changing perspectives and settings. I watch many films, I am a cinema lover, and sometimes, instead of focusing on film, I focus on shots and colors, perspectives, people, on many things but the film in its total.

"My dream is to be a photographer who does not exaggerate with presets and colors, contribute to raising awareness about world problems, having a healthy and adventurous lifestyle."

I want that my photography represents me as a woman of action. Photography helped me crossing many obstacles, all of them representing a tangible memory now thanks to photography. It is like writing history. And I want to continue writing and documenting everything.
