I grew up in the countryside with my parents, which I guess is why I feel so good when I am in nature and surrounded by mountains. That was my natural environment; as little boy I was impressed by the spacious area around me. Now I am 28, a happy father, and I still feel small in front of the beauty of nature.
I started with photography just two years ago. I found myself so often outdoors and at the most wonderful places, that I wanted to actually capture these moments. Nowadays photography stimulates me to look for new places; as soon as I have time I go out with my camera. However, sometimes I don’t even shoot, I let the camera and just look at what surrounds me and what nature offers me. It relaxes me and makes me feel at ease with myself.
To always remain inspired I try to look as much as possible at what other photographers do, I particularly like the works of Marcel Siebert and Forrest Mankins. In the past I did some workshops to take the first steps in photography, in the future I would like to learn a bit about another photographic genre, such as portraits, to keep trying out new things. Landscape photography though awakes a feeling inside that is indescribable, for example when seeing a magnificent sunrise over the Dolomites, in particular in Seceda. I have seen so many, but I can never get enough. However, if I now had the opportunity to go further away, I would definitely choose Iceland, for its wonderful fairytale landscapes, one of the many national parks in the USA, and or Scotland, to enjoy the greenery that you can find there.
I took the first photo after a night in a tent at an altitude of 2500m in one of the most beautiful and unique places of the Dolomites, the Seceda. When the sun peeked over the mountain peaks, I could see the silhouette of that man, standing there alone, watching the sea of clouds below him.
Not long ago I went on a trip to Madeira, an island from Portugal. It´s a place well known by contemporary photographers thanks to the great variety of landscapes. On the second picture you see a road that lies below the highest peak on the island, Pico do Arieiro, which is the starting point of one of the most beautiful treks I have ever done. We were returning to the coast after having completed this very difficult trek, when I noticed this stretch of road that ended in a very dense fog, giving a fantastic mood.
