Drone photographer based in Greece
My name is Konstantinos, aka c0uver, and live in Athens, Greece. My interest in photography started with my love for being in the air, actually. For some inexplicable reason, the aerial perspective has always fascinated me more than any other. I remember always trying to get on the window seat when I got on a plane and taking pictures with my cell phone. Then, in 2016, I discovered the drone and my world changed. It provides a different perspective that intrigued me.

It quickly became my passion and obsession. As enthusiastic I was to take the plane when I was younger, as enthusiastic I am still today when I go traveling. Maybe even more, because now I think about the landscapes and nature that I can discover through my lens, observe every details and capture the moment. The whole procedure of exploring, photographing and editing belongs to the craft.
When I started photographing, I didn’t know anything at all about it. I devoted a lot of time to reading and watching videos; slowly and with small steps I began understanding more about photography. Although personally I think that the most important is to be out there listening to nature and your feelings, experimenting and practicing, maybe even getting bored but in the end this is what will result in development and being a little more satisfied and happier about the outcome every time.

Every day, I am inspired by young artists who may be insignificant or little important on social media but have done a tremendous job or have travelled to the most incredible places. They really motivate me to travel more, see what’s out there and keep shooting without being discouraged by all the great artists which sometimes can make you feel like you will never get there.
When I started using social media and posting myself, I realized that my photos can be seen by everyone very easily despite the number of followers. It enabled me to connect with so many photographers around the world, which resulted in some very precious friendships. Even though we speak different languages, have another cultural background or live in a totally different time zone, we will find a way to talk about our interests and share our passion.

I guess that people you meet along your life are the best professors, together with all the new experiences. I have travelled a lot in Europe and every time I went, I always learnt something different, got surprised and amplified my worldview. My trip to the USA though had the biggest impact. Seeing Yosemite Valley and capturing it from above was an unforgettable experience; I had never seen something like that before and in the vastness of their landscapes I realized how small I was. We are just tiny inhabitants of an unimaginable huge and immense world. And we can already feel it while we are standing there in the middle of a landscape or on top of a mountain, which, if you think about it, is only a miniscule part of the whole world.
I love shooting in other countries, it is a totally different experience and makes you question how to approach the photography as you deal with different light, landscapes, moods, etc. Nevertheless, most of my photos are taken in Greece and I am super happy to live here. It is a beautiful country and it combines everything one might be looking for geographically speaking.
"I would love to have more free time to travel within Greece and discover every corner of it."
It is nice to see the whole world, but I really want to know my country as well and to show it to others through my photography. As a kid I had heard a lot about Mount Olympus so it was inevitable that I wanted to capture that place. The whole process of getting there was an adventure, and when I saw what I had been hearing about for so many years I felt the greatest joy. I didn’t expect it to be so beautiful in the “throne of god”. I can say it is one of my favorite pictures still today!
"I see editing as an opportunity to paint my own reality."
Post processing for me is the other 60% in my work, maybe even more, and my style is a combination of several artists and techniques that have inspired me over time. It needs some patience but you get to achieve your own style if you give yourself time for discovery. What I want to get is the mood and atmosphere and work on it until I succeed – it’s a feeling, you know when you got it. I may work on a photo for hours and experiment.
Normally the colors I use are cooler and there is enough overall darkness, though I always try to have a little light to give a specific touch. It’s never easy to get the final result, I always have second thoughts… Maybe after seeing it again I may not like it and leave it on the ‘shelf’ or I may like it a lot and share it with all of you. In the end I always let my instinct prevail.
I love the editing part, but the best of the whole process that comes with photography can be summarized in three moments: when I plan the trip, when I pack for the trip, and when I live the trip. I always prepare my equipment, check that everything is working properly and start looking for beautiful landscapes as soon as I arrive. I specifically like this because I have a purpose to accomplish and can reconnect with nature, which is my favorite part. Photography contributes a lot to my mental wellbeing because when I am in nature with my camera and drone, I forget all my problems and negative thoughts disappear. I feel calm and alive within nature. It is my medicine, the solution that clears my mind and puts me back on track.

I’d love to conclude saying that it is so important to be yourself, get out of the comfort zone, find yourself outdoors, embrace your mistakes and learn! We don’t always need to follow the rules, especially not those we made up ourselves or are imposed to us, unconsciously, by the expectations of the majority.
