Best of the week 32

My name is Kevin Jack and I am a travel photographer based in Switzerland. Since my childhood I have had the opportunity to travel the world thanks to my parents, who loved visiting new countries. Not everyone can say that, I know. So, I don’t take any opportunity for granted!

My interest for photography came way later, when I was 21 years old. At that time I moved to Chile for 3 months in order to study Spanish. After that I travelled for a few additional months around South America.

"This trip got the best of me and shaped my interests."

When I traveled, I never took a lot of pictures. I didn’t feel completely comfortable with the workflow surrounding travel photography. However, South America inspired me to capture its landscapes at their best! And so I discovered my passion for photography. For the next 4 years I studied on daily basis to improve and learn about composition and edition. I have not stopped since.

Nowadays I believe that every image has its own story – specially in landscape photography. Some photos may look sunny and other moody. Other images are simply dark while many captures are bright, only light. Yet, all these photos can be beautiful in their own way. In our world, there is beauty everywhere, you just have to look closely and pay attention to details! This is one of the things I like most about photography. It forces you to look closely, until you realize how special and fragile our Planet really is.

"This is why my main goal with photography is to raise awareness about global warming and hopefully inspire people to protect our environment - which is wonderful and necessary for our subsistence."

If you are searching for a new hobby, I extremely recommend you to try landscape photography! For me photography is all about adventure and exploring. In addition, along all these past years I have met tones of new people and fellow photographer – some of them are now good friends of mine.

"Photography really changed my life!"
