“Every time I can find something new to photograph there and the day I took the winning shot, it was a frosty spring morning and colors started to slowly appear in the sky while swans were swimming near the shore of the lake – simply beautiful.”

“The clouds broke open, giving way to this brilliant orange light that streamed across the sky. Off in the distance – a cloud inversion had formed in the valley, however, right above us were the most voluminous clouds, catching the light rays in different intensities.”

“The winning photo was taken on a trip to Iceland. The waterfall is known as Skógafoss and is one of the largest waterfalls on the island. It was late in the afternoon and most of the crowds were already on their way back to the hotels.”

It was intended to be more of a scouting photo for the next morning, where I wanted to shoot a panorama at sunrise. But actually, I like the light coming from the other direction even better; it gives more depth to the image, and also the mood fits much better into the Norwegian landscape.”
